Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just the age of six. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969 where she placed 13th. She did well in the 1970 competition. She was awarded three golds during her debut competition at a pre-Olympic junior meet in 1972, which was a communist-friendly countries. In 1973 and 1974, she was the all-around junior champion. She beat the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva who was the five-time European champion, at her first international senior competition in the year 1975. At this competition, she received four golds, and a silver. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman in the history of sport to take off the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the world of entertainment began in her teens, when she began skating figure along with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the show that travels named Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career as an entertainer in her teens. As a young girl she began her journey as Figure Skating Performer alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show called Ice Capades. These shows included theatrical ice-skating performances.
